Your private cloud at home

Photo backup, family cloud, hobby photography — all on your own devices. Keep your data sovereignty, even at home.

Typical home setups

Four ways VluxNet helps you privately. Pick the one that fits your setup.

My phone is always full

Thousands of photos, no space for new ones. VluxNet backs them up automatically to your Pi.

Pi 5 · VluxApp Learn more

We all know it: the phone tells you "storage almost full" again, but you don’t really want to delete any of the photos. Cloud providers want monthly fees, and phones don’t have removable hard drives.

VluxNet solves it like this: your Raspberry Pi sits at home and automatically receives new photos as soon as you arrive on your home Wi-Fi. The pictures land in your own storage, sorted by date. What’s safely stored can be removed from the phone on purpose — the originals stay on the Pi, in full resolution.

What you need:

  • A Raspberry Pi 5 as the hub (Pi box with VluxNet set up)
  • VluxApp on your Android phone
  • Home Wi-Fi

Laptop and phone at home

Move your own data between laptop and phone — without the cloud.

VluxPC · VluxApp Learn more

You have a laptop and a phone. Both at home, both used every day. But moving data between the devices is awkward — via email, USB cable, or via a cloud you don’t really want to use.

VluxNet connects both devices directly. Photos from the phone land on the laptop automatically, documents from the laptop are available on the phone. You don’t need an extra Pi — the laptop takes the hub role, as long as it’s on.

What you need:

  • VluxPC for your laptop (Windows 10/11)
  • VluxApp for your Android phone
  • Home Wi-Fi

Family

Shared photo library, music streaming, your own cloud for the whole family.

Pi 5 · VluxApp · VluxPC Learn more

In families, photos and memories accumulate over years. On the kids’ phones, the parents’ laptop, grandma’s camera. Everything should be reachable, nothing should be lost, and nobody wants to pay every month for more cloud storage.

VluxNet turns the whole home into a family cloud. The Pi 5 holds the photo library, the music collection and the family documents. Every family phone and every PC can access it — including on the road, via the encrypted tunnel connection.

What you need:

  • A Pi box as the family hub
  • VluxApp on the family phones
  • VluxPC on the family laptop or PC

Hobby photographer

Original quality for your shots — no compression like the cloud services.

Pi 5 · VluxApp · VluxPC Learn more

Cloud providers often compress image quality to save storage. For ambitious photographers that’s a problem — the carefully shot RAW files should stay at full quality.

VluxNet transfers images at original quality. No compression, no resolution reduction. Your RAWs sit on the Pi exactly as they sit on the memory card. Available from every device on the network, at full size.

What you need:

  • A Pi box (ideally with a larger disk) as the photo archive
  • VluxApp and VluxPC for access from all your devices

What you need

Three platforms, freely combinable.

VluxPC

  • Windows 10/11
  • .NET 8 Runtime
  • 4 GB RAM (more recommended)

VluxApp

  • Android 8.0 or newer

VluxNode

  • Raspberry Pi 5
  • 8 GB RAM standard, 16 GB optional
  • .NET 8

Apple devices (iPhone, Mac) follow in a later version.

What you can rely on

Four promises behind every Vlux setup.

Full data sovereignty

Your data sits on your own devices. You keep full control — no foreign server, no provider looking in.

End-to-end encrypted

AES-256-GCM between sender and recipient. Nobody in the middle reads along.

Made in Germany

Built in Schleswig-Holstein. Relay servers in Germany.

GDPR-compliant

No cookies, no tracking, no third-party services — on this site or in the product.

Beta running

Thank you to our beta testers

You're entering the beta with us while VluxNet is still young, and you're giving us your trust. You report bugs, shape features and help decide where the journey goes. That is exactly what makes the difference. From the heart: thank you.

Applications currently closed

The beta is running with a fixed group — we're not accepting further applications at this time. General availability is coming; then VluxNet will be open to everyone.
